Day 1 - Departure City - Colombo

Overnight on board

Departure by plane to Colombo. Overnight on board.

Day 2 - Colombo - Kandy

Dinner

Arrival at Colombo airport. Baggage claim, reception, and transfer to the hotel in Kandy. Depending on availability, we will have access to the room as soon as possible to rest from the trip. In the afternoon, we will attend a performance of the famous Sinhalese dances to end the day.

The program is designed for flights arriving in Colombo between 08:00 and 10:00 hrs. For arrivals on other flights, please check for additional transfer costs.

 

Day 3 - Kandy - Pinnawela - Peradeniya - Kandy

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. We will then visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular attractions. We will arrive early in the morning to see how they are fed with fruit, and we will have the opportunity to feed the elephants. Later, the entire herd is led to the river for a bath.

Return to Kandy to visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Lunch at a local restaurant. Kandy is well known for its artisans, and we will have the chance to see the world's largest Blue Star Sapphire in a gem museum and learn more about precious stones.

In the afternoon, we will stroll through the city center and visit Kandy’s main market, where we can witness authentic Sinhalese daily life. Return to the hotel.

 

Day 4 - Kandy - Matale - Dambulla - Habarana

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. First, we will visit the fascinating Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Dalada Maligawa. If possible, it is recommended to wear white clothing, as Buddhists traditionally dress in white when visiting temples to promote equality and serenity.

Departure for Habarana. On the way, we will visit a spice garden, where we will learn how to cook a delicious and typical curry dish.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Later, we will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple, which features five caves adorned with impressive Buddhist frescoes and statues.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 5 - Habarana - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Habarana

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will wake up early to climb the Lion Rock in Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous landmarks. By arriving early, we will avoid the crowds and the heat.

Then, we will head to the country’s second ancient capital, where we will explore palaces, temples, stupas, and rock-carved statues.

Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will go on a safari through the region’s vegetation to observe wild elephants.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 6 - Habarana - Dambulla - Colombo - Galle

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Colombo. Along the way, we will stop at a traditional textile shop, where we will have the opportunity to dress in Sri Lankan traditional attire.

Upon arrival in Colombo, we will take a panoramic tour by car, visiting the city's highlights: Cinnamon Gardens, Viharamahadevi Park, a Hindu Temple, Galle Face Green promenade, Independence Square, and the BMICH Convention Center.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we continue to Galle.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 7 - Galle - Koggala - Yala

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Road trip to Galle to visit the Dutch Fortress.

Then, we will travel to Koggala to see the famous stilt fishermen, who balance on poles to fish amidst the ocean waves.

Continuing to Tissamaharama, where we will enjoy a jeep safari in Yala National Park. If we are lucky, we may spot leopards, sloth bears, elephants, crocodiles, and a variety of birds and other wildlife.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 8 - Yala - Ella - Haputale

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Road trip to Ella, with a photo stop at Rawana Falls.

Upon arrival in Ella, we will do two exciting activities:

  • Hike to Little Adam’s Peak

  • Visit the famous Nine Arches Bridge

Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Haputale, a beautiful mountain town with stunning views.

Since Haputale has strong British colonial influences, we will enjoy a traditional High Tea with Sri Lankan sweets.

At around 7:30 PM, we will participate in a fun activity called “Make Your Own Cocktail”, using local ingredients such as coconut liquor.

Tonight, we will have a special BBQ dinner on an outdoor terrace with a chill-out atmosphere. (In case of rain, it will be held indoors.)

 

Day 9 - Haputale - Negombo

Breakfast and lunch

Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England”, due to its colonial charm.

We will take the famous Sri Lankan train through the breathtaking tea plantations, enjoying one of the most scenic train journeys in the world.

Upon arrival in the city, we will stroll around Gregory Lake (depending on available time).

Lunch at a local restaurant. We will then visit a tea plantation and factory, where we will pick tea leaves and witness the production process of Sri Lanka’s world-renowned tea.

The Spanish-speaking guide will bid farewell to the group, and the rest of the journey to Negombo will be with an English-speaking driver.

 

Day 10 - Negombo - Colombo - Departure City

Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Colombo Airport for the return flight.

Overnight on board.

 

Day 11 - Arrival in Home Country

Arrival and end of the trip.

Cancellation Policy

Holds: No management or cancellation fees apply. Holds are allowed for 48 hours, provided the airfare permits it.

 

For confirmed bookings:

  • €60 (VAT included) per person as a management fee, plus any applicable cancellation fees.

  • 30 to 20 days before departure: 20% of the total price

  • 19 to 10 days before departure: 50% of the total price

  • 9 to 7 days before departure: 75% of the total price

  • 6 to 0 days before departure: 100% of the total price

  • This cancellation policy applies to the valuation of land services. Cancellation fees for airline tickets will be communicated at the time of booking, as they depend on the airline and the fare class.

Important information

  • The program is designed for flights arriving in Colombo between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. For arrivals outside this schedule, additional transfers (with an English-speaking driver-guide) and early check-in will be charged as supplements.

  • This program is based on flights departing from Colombo between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. If the flight is at a different time, an additional transfer supplement will apply, depending on the reserved hotel arrangements.

  • It is MANDATORY to have a visa to travel to Sri Lanka. Currently, the official portal https://eta.gov.lk/slvisa/ is operational for processing the 30-day electronic visa (ETA).
